The rooms that I recommended to use hardwood floors are living room, guest room balcony and any room that you want natural looking and feeling warmth. Some hardwood floors may be susceptible to extreme arid conditions in their solid format, checking and splitting can occur. In cases like this I suggest using engineered hardwoods as an alternative.

Hardwood floors easy to clean and great for allergy sufferers too. The only downside is that they can be slightly cold and do not keep the heat in as well as carpets. Just follow the manufacturer’s recommendations regarding proper cleaning and treatments and you will not only keep them looking gorgeous. There is a timeless quality about the natural color of hardwoods that will ensure your home never becomes outdated because of its natural flooring. You will also be protecting your valuable investment in your home. Keeping on top of any minor repairs will forestall larger problems in the long run, so be sure to do the proper upkeep.

By the way, for cleaning your hardwood floors. Standing water can warp a floor so any spillages should be soaked up immediately. Any cleaning agents used should be pH neutral and specifically designed for hardwood floors as other cleaning agents can strip the finish from the floor.

Where possible use the manufacturers recommended product which will compliment the flooring to the highest standards. The preferred type of product would be the more traditional solid 3/4″ material that will outlast our lifetimes, providing it’s taken care of properly. Choose hardwood flooring that meets exacting standards in quality, durability, craftsmanship and design from flooring manufacturers with a belief in responsible environmental practices.
